Whether you dream of an open-air or intimate chapel ceremony, Ristonchi has you covered.
The best thing about a wedding at Ristonchi is that everything happens in one breathtaking location — yet each moment feels like its own magical scene.
When your guests arrive, they’re welcomed to their rooms to unpack, freshen up, and settle into castle life. Their first stop is a welcome aperitivo at the pool with all the best Tuscan meats and cheeses. The pool bar is open for whatever they desire. Then everyone heads to the terrace for a lively welcome pizza and wine party. Guests mingle, sip, and laugh together as the sky turns rose gold — then wander just a few steps back to their cozy rooms for the night.
The morning of your wedding, breakfast is served outdoors as the sun warms the valley. Some guests head straight for the pool, others explore the olive groves or hike to the nearby forest chapel. A relaxed panini lunch keeps everyone fueled and happy before the ceremony begins.
When it’s time, everyone walks a short distance to the lawn or chapel to watch you say “I do.” After vows and cheers, the celebration flows seamlessly into the aperitivo hour — with Tuscan meats, cheeses, Prosecco, and refreshing Aperol Spritz served under the shade of the stretch tent.
As evening sets in, your guests move through the olive trees into a candlelit dinner as the sun slowly dips behind the hills. During dinner, the sunset paints the sky in orange and pink — a spectacular show for all — and by the time dessert arrives, stars are twinkling overhead. Then it’s cake on the terrace, followed by dancing in the legendary Rave Cave — our medieval dungeon turned disco — where the open bar and DJ keep the party going late into the night.
Because everyone stays onsite, guests can slip back to their rooms in less than a minute whenever they’re ready to rest, making the entire weekend seamless, safe, and unforgettable.
If you choose a 3-night package, the next day is pure relaxation — a long brunch, a tour of the farm and grounds, a poolside BBQ, maybe a nap at the pool, a dip in the ice tub or a friendly game of volleyball, and a pasta-making class to close out the weekend. In summer, the castle feels alive with joy — laughter by the pool, music echoing through the valley, and sunsets that make time stand still.
For Couples Wondering “Is Italy Too Hot In Summer?”
It’s a fair question, but here’s the truth:
Our castle is 1,000 feet above the valley, nestled in Tuscany’s hills. That means cooler evenings, natural shade, and air that flows through the stone walls.
Summer ceremonies begin around 5:30–6:00 PM, when the light is golden and the heat softens. That means your guests can enjoy the pool all day before getting dressed for the wedding.
By dinner time, the air is warm and gentle, perfect for eating (and dancing) outdoors after dark.
Your guests won’t be melting, they’ll be swimming, sipping on Aperol Spritz, and living la dolce vita.
We know planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming — most couples are told it takes a year or more to pull everything together. But with our all-inclusive packages, it doesn’t have to. At Castello di Ristonchi, everything is already arranged for you: the venue, food and wine, accommodations, decor, and trusted vendors. There’s no need to spend months searching, emailing, and negotiating — it’s all built in.
We created these packages after planning our own destination wedding in 2015 and helping many couples since. We know what timeline works best, which vendors you can rely on, and how to create a flow that keeps everything effortless.
When you choose Ristonchi, you’re choosing to actually enjoy your own wedding — not get buried in planning. You’ll relax with your family and friends in a magical atmosphere, knowing every detail is handled. Your wedding will be special, memorable, and stress-free, with our friendly and attentive staff making sure the experience is everything you dreamed of (and more)!
FAQs
-
Yes — it’s truly beautiful! July and August in Tuscany are warm and golden, with long days and stunning sunsets. But because Castello di Ristonchi sits high in the hills, the air is much cooler than in the cities or lowlands.
Daytime is perfect for swimming, lounging by the pool, or enjoying a prosecco under the shade of the olive trees. By evening, a light mountain breeze drifts through the valley — just in time for your outdoor dinner and dancing under the stars.
Our couples love that their guests stay comfortable all night without needing jackets, and that the castle’s thick stone walls keep rooms cool and restful for sleep.
-
Summer at Ristonchi is pure Tuscan beauty — golden hills, blooming olive trees, and sunsets that feel endless. The gardens bloom with roses, anemones, colorful zinnias and olive branches that hold up beautifully in the warm light. Nature does the decorating for you.
-
Not at all. July and August are some of the easiest times to travel — flights and trains run frequently, and guests love turning your wedding into their summer holiday. Florence and Tuscany are full of life, and we arrange everything from airport transfers to shuttles to make arrival effortless.
-
Up to 100 guests can stay onsite in the castle accommodations, and we can host ceremonies and receptions for up to 150 people depending on location.
-
Summer has very limited weekends. If your preferred date is already booked, you can consider a weekday wedding (often easier for guests to travel in summer) or ask us about other options.
-
The castle itself doesn’t have air conditioning — its 1,000-year-old stone walls were built to stay naturally cool. Even in summer, the thick walls, hilltop breeze, and shaded courtyards keep temperatures comfortable, especially in the evenings. Some of the rooms stay cooler than others, we can guide you as you place your guests so those who need cooler rooms have them.
-
Summer weddings at Ristonchi usually begin in the late afternoon — around 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. — when the light is golden, the air is cooler and the ceremony lawn is partially shaded.
As dinner begins, the sun sets over the valley in a spectacular show of color, turning every table into a front-row seat to the Tuscan sky.
You’ll have your cake cutting with a backdrop of flowers then guests head to the Rave Cave.

Testimonials
"The food - my god. I can genuinely say every single meal we ate at the castle was easily some of the best cooking we've had in Italy, and my entire group could not stop raving about it. Not only is the food delicious, it is abundant. Every meal was cooked to perfection. Even self-made pizzas and pasta were good because the dough and ingredients provided were so fresh! From the eggs at bruch, to the tagliata steak, the roasted potatoes, to paninis and lasagna, everything was soooo sooooooo good. Also, the gelato and pastries at dinner were phenomenal. OH and cannot forget the truffle fries as a midnight snack - amazing!"

“I was lucky enough to get to stay at Castello di Risonchi in late May 2019 for my little brother's wedding. The experience was so great it's hard to know where to begin. The setting is absolutely picturesque, nestled in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside in a building that dates to at least 900 (at least simply because that’s the oldest deed of sale that the owners had found). The rooms are quaint and comfortable, and the views from the top rooms unparalleled.”

"The venue is absolutely stunning. Pictures don't do it justice! I had never visited the castle before day 1 of our party so you can imagine I was a little nervous about how everything would be. This place is breathtaking and organised in such a perfect way for a multi-day party. From the terrace, to the pool and bbq area, to the dinner lawn and of course, the RAVE CAVE. This place was AWESOME. The views were unlike anything I've seen and the sunset and cloud formations we saw were unreal. My friends also loved the bonus hikes and trails!"

"The Castello di Ristonchi team was reliable every step of the planning process and even exceeded our expectations. The second that our guests checked in they were swept away with the breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills and the food was hands down the best Italian food we've ever had... trust us, my fiancé and I used to live in Italy. Stefanie and Rasmus welcomed us to their dreamy castle, the chapel was perfect for our ceremony and the outdoor reception was everything we had hoped for under a beautiful scenic sunset and stringed lights. Plus, they have the best network of local vendors from the acoustic musicians that played all night long to the makeup artist. Thank you, Castello di Ristonchi! My husband and I can't wait to return with our family and someday with our children."
