Is Castello di Ristonchi the Right Wedding Venue for You? Let’s Find Out!

Planning a wedding in Italy sounds like a dream but we know (personally!) it can also be overwhelming AF. Especially when you’re searching from abroad, weighing logistics, budget, and wondering if it’s all too good to be true.

That’s why at Castello di Ristonchi, we’re not afraid to address the hard questions. We’ve hosted over 300 destination weddings for couples from all over the world, and we’ve heard every hesitation under the Tuscan sun. So today, we’re flipping the script and giving you honest answers to the biggest concerns couples have when considering a castle wedding in Italy.

“It’s in the middle of nowhere and hard to reach.”

Fair. We're not located in the heart of a big city. And honestly? That’s a huge part of our magic. We absolutely see this as a plus!

Our past couples have often joked that they “trapped all their favorite people on a Tuscan hilltop” and they loved it. There's no other bar or restaurant for guests to disappear to. Everyone stays together, connected, and immersed in the celebration. Need alone time? Your guests have cozy rooms or can take a peaceful walk through the surrounding forest.

We're perched on a quiet Tuscan hillside, surrounded by nature, about 45 minutes from Florence. That means privacy, panoramic views, silence, exclusiveness and total escape. And yes, it requires some coordination. That’s why our all-inclusive wedding packages include group shuttles to and from the airport, plus clear travel guides so your guests feel confident getting here.

“It looks rustic, what if it lacks modern comforts?”

We’re a 1,000-year-old castle in Tuscany with modern amenities. Think: WiFi, cozy heating, clean bathrooms, comfy beds, and thoughtful touches throughout.

It’s not a five-star resort and we don’t pretend it is. Instead, it’s an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind stay where you wake up to birdsong and know you’re in a real Tuscan castle, not a white-walled hotel room that could be anywhere in the world.

We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, and high-quality linens. And these aren’t your average bath products—they’re organic, locally made, and crafted from olive oil grown right here in Tuscany. The water in your shower? It’s straight from our mountain spring: crystal clear, pure and drinkable.

Not to mention, every meal is made with care, using fresh, high-quality ingredients (many from our own garden). It doesn’t get more luxurious than that, at least not the kind of luxury that feeds your soul.

If you’re looking for 24-hour room service or marble bathtubs, we’re probably not your match. But if you want charm, soul, and magic in every stone? Welcome home.

“I’m planning from abroad. How do I know I can trust you?”

You’re not alone—most of our couples come from the U.S., U.K., Australia, and beyond.

We’ve hosted hundreds of destination weddings in Italy, and we provide full-service support from day one. You'll have a dedicated point of contact from the moment you book to the moment you walk down the aisle. We’ll give you planning tools, checklists, timelines, and docs that anticipate questions before you’ve even thought to ask them.

“What if my guests can’t afford to travel?”

We believe in celebrating love simply, beautifully, and meaningfully. Our packages include guest accommodation and meals and are more affordable than typical Italian hotels or restaurants. Many guests treat this as their vacation, or at least a starting point of one. And if some guests can’t make it? That’s okay. Destination weddings are often more intimate by nature, that’s what makes them special.

“How do I know the food and music will be good?”

We’re passionate about food, and we think it shows!

All meals are prepared in-house, from scratch. From our hand-stretched pizza dough to the tomatoes grown in our garden and made into bruschetta with our own olive oil but on top of our fresh baked bread, we serve fresh, delicious, rustic Italian meals that leave guests raving. Don’t just take our word for it, check out our reviews!

As for the music? We provide a live band during the aperitivo and dinner, and a DJ-led dance party in our famous Rave Cave. It’s a full experience from live “That’s Amore” singalongs to your custom playlist seamlessly mixed by a pro DJ.

Need a florist, photographer, or makeup artist? We have a trusted list of local vendors, or bring your own. We’re here to make it effortless, not restrictive.

“What if I want something personal, not cookie-cutter?”

You’ve come to the right place.

Castello di Ristonchi is not a wedding factory. Yes, we host many weddings but no two are ever the same. We give you the solid foundation of an unforgettable experience then let your personal touches shine.

Whether it’s your signature cocktails, handwritten place cards, a custom welcome sign, unique ceremony rituals, or themed decor, we’re here to bring your vision to life. You focus on the moments that matter to you and we’ll handle the rest.

We Know It’s a Big Decision

Choosing the right wedding venue in Tuscany is a big leap of faith and we don’t take that lightly. That’s why we welcome your questions, concerns, and even your hesitations.
